“The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Romans 8:18

What this verse is telling us is simple. Yes, we will suffer in the present but we will be rewarded for it. David Livingstone was a Scottish physician, a Christian missionary out of the London missionary society and an explorer of Africa. In 1857 he gave a speech at Cambridge University: “People talk of the sacrifice I have made in spending so much of my life in Africa …Away with the word in such a view and with such a thought! It is emphatically no sacrifice. Say rather it is a privilege. Anxiety, sickness, suffering, or danger now and then with a foregoing of the common conveniences and charities of this life may make us pause and cause the spirit to waver and the soul to sink; but let this only be for a moment. All these are nothing when compared with the glory which shall be revealed in and for us. I never made a sacrifice.”

When we choose to serve Jesus Christ and truly are serving with a servants heart we will always get back more than we give. If we gain in the process and get back from it more than we gave, then have we given at all? In Mark 10:28-30Peter began by calling attention to the fact that they had all left everything and followed Him “Then Peter began to say to Jesus, “See, we have left all and followed You. So Jesus answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time —houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions — and in the age to come, eternal life.’” In other words if we serve and give our all in service to The Lord and expect nothing in return then the only regret we will have is that we didn’t find ways to serve him more and begin to serve him sooner in our life.  Galatians 6:9

Wow, no regrets! Can we imagine a life with no regrets? It is hard for us to imagine what that would be like. Never having to apologize for our inappropriate actions, harsh words or for losing our temper and saying things we shouldn’t have. No road rage, no impatience with others. We would never again feel guilt or have bitterness because there would be no regrets. We may have difficulty imagining a place like that on this wretched place we call earth but there is a place like this.

That place with “NO REGRETS” is our heavenly home. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10Jeremiah 29:11. Oh what an awesome place that will be when we are there. Take some time right now to imagine yourself in heaven enjoying life with no more regrets! There will be no more sin, no more anger, no more pain, sickness, suffering, no tears, sadness, no worries and no more death. No disappointments, never have to fear auto accidents, killings or terrorist attacks. Isaiah 11:6. This should blow our mind wide open and make us jump and shout Hallelujah and Praise God’s Holy Name. We won’t have to wait long because Jesus is coming soon to take us home. We will enjoy that heavenly home one day soon. In the grand scheme of time it is a very short time we are here on this earth when compared to eternity that we will spend beyond.

We need to examine our own hearts and be certain of our surrender to Christ Jesus and remove anything that stands between us and Him. Then we must take His commandment to us seriously and work daily to build His Kingdom by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone we can. God does not want anyone to be left behind so let us reach out with love to those that don’t know Jesus as their Savior. Be a neighbor that wants to be a good one to as many as possible once we get to our heavenly home. The more the merrier is so true. To all who reads this, speaking as a Christian let me tell you that we hope to see you there in heaven with us.
